That article is just one out of many in which there is a totally distorted description of Rastafari is used to put judgement on all those within or connected to Rastafari who are also born again through Christ Yesus.

It could also illustrate as to why some people (like your's truly) can be very motivated to chant down these so called exposees.

I have also written to the guy and no ofcourse he won't reply because he simply doesn't know. He's right on target with his descriptions of bands like "Stryper" (very very interesting to read) but Reggae should not be seen as hard rock and should not be approached like it because it is a totally different culture.

One example of this ignorance is when I heard this "metal christian leader" pray for Black Uhuru to become White Uhuru

This is a transcript of what I have written to the man, including the spelling mistakes:

Quote:
Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Just spend a significant amount of time reading off your website. Been reading the pages about the music and would like to respond to the page about a band called "POD". Although this name was known to me, it was interesting to read about the band.

Wjat caught my additional attention is your writings concerning what you describe/quote as "rastafarianism". I must say that I am in strong disagreemtn with what you wrote about this movement. It is a wrong representation, and because of it's inaccuracy I felt I should write a comment to you.

I do not know who you are, you do not know who I am. A short presentation: I am a reggae musician with dreadlocks who worships JAH the Creator though Jesus Christ, Who is God in the flesh. My name is "messian dread". You might be interested in seeing my homepage at the Dubroom: http://messiandread.dubroom.org/ and who knows, you might even use my writings to "expose" another "satanic deception", but I take that chance cause I fear no man's judgment just JAH's.

Now, the page I refer to is: http://www.av1611.org/crock/pod_rast.html

I will shortly bring up a few points (not the only ones) that I can proof you wrong.

You quote extensively from a book "The Rastafarians" by a man who is himself not a Rasta. Still you take his words as the ultimate truth and you research no further. That's a missed chance fe real.

It is not true, that Rasta is a religion. Rasta do not neccesarily believe Selassie to be any form of Incarnated Deity. Yes, a lot do, yes most do, but not all.

Rastas do not believe to be reincarnated 12 tribes of Israel. That's absurdity. What is happenning, is that within Rasta you have several "houses". One of these houses, the biggest Rastafarian Organization by the way, is called "the 12 tribes of Israel". They have a theology which you can also find within several forms of Christianity, namely that the ones who are born again through Christ are now spiritual Israel. The leader of this organization, by the way, has expressed in an interview that he does not believe Selassie to be Christ (or God in any other form so to speak) and he quotes Selassie, when Selassie said of himself that he also needed to be saved by the Blood of the Lamb.

You do not like people refer to the Head of Creation, the Most High God, as JAH. Still it is in the Bible. You sing it all the time when you sing HalleluJAH. You say it when you speak of EliJAH. You shouldn't judge people for refering to the Creator by a Name with more biblical foundation then "God", which is, like the word "allah", simply the name of a pagan deity. But we now refer to the Creator as God, which is not bad or so because He knows, still people refering to Him by His Name JAH should make you rejoice for they speak about our Lord.

You have a lot to say about dreadlocks, but not that they are mentioned in the Bible. Numbers 6. Another missed chance.

You speak not about the fact that Bob Marley was in his life connected with the Archbishop of the Ethiopian Church, who was sent by Selassie to Jamaica to teach the Rastas that he is not God. During the last times in his life, Bob Marley actually got baptized in this church so to speak and that means that he no longer believed Selassie to be God.

You call Eek-A-Mouse a hardcore Rasta "band". Well, he is not a band but a reggae DJ/"rapper" and his performances are far from Rasta. There's nothing "hardocre Rasta" in Eek-A-Mouse.

Do you know that within the Rastafarian movement there are many people coming to the conclusion Selassie is not the second coming of Christ? Can you conclude with me that this is a very positive movement, led by the Holy Spirit Who always leads to Christ?

I know many Rastas who believe in Jesus as their Saviour. Yes some of them are thinking Jesus came back already but they will also come to that conclusion that Selassie is not Jah when they research further.

A few points for your consideration. Reference material can be found here: http://www.dubroom.org/articles/0000.htm

You will find the inmterview with the head of the 12 tribes, and also an article about the archbishop.

Thank you for your time.

One Love,

He is the kind of man who does not understand the origins of the Bible. The most ignorant thing I have ever read.

Very good points in this article. I disagree with his stance on Rastafarianism. The man is closed off to other cultures.

Messian Dread, your letter is good, I hope you guys do get some kind of response, but it's hard when somebody already has their mind made up.

You guys are really confused on what rasta is...There is rasta the religion...Which believe that Selassie is God.

Then there is another term for rasta...And it means people that are associated with reggae music...This is the kind of rastas you guys are referring to...These people are not really rastas...They just use that name because of the reggae scene....These are "fashion" dreads....Or "fashion" rastas.

The true rastafarian is as this article describes...They look at Selassie as God...They look at whites as Babylon.

You guys say "Not all rastas believe that Selassie was God".....Well,You guys are only talking about the "Fashion" rastas.....And they are not really rastas.

After all this time and reasoning, you STILL don't get it, do you? It doesn't seem to matter how much evidence is given you, you just come out with the same old lines.

the confusion belongs to you fiyah and i must say that your statement here is one of the more ignorant statements that you have made.

just for example prophet Gad is the head of the twleve tribes of israel, one of the four houses of Ras Tafari, and he does not believe Selassie is God and you couldnt call Gad a fashion dread even if you wanted to cause he doesnt have locks.

another example; there are two bobo shanti rasta communes that each have there own reincarnate black Jesus living at the commune and its not selassie

as much as poeple like you fiyah and this bald head who wrote the article want to put InI in a box, it is impossible there is too many beliefs even just within the four houses of Ras Tafari to put them all under one classification of ideas.
