i read that article a few months ago and I was quite disappointed. Like Pete said it was shallow showing no real understanding of the topic other than what some one else thought. I get disgusted with these types of "Religious" hating. Yes there were some good points raised, and the is concerned about Holiness, but they also forget about Love and Mercy...

I agree completely. Instead of hating one another and looking at our faults, let us Praise God together.

Just to clear things up, Jah is not "rastafarian" for God. They don't have their own language. It's an abbreviation.

From dictionary.new-frontier.info - the free dictionary.

abbreviation
shortened form of Jehovah, God's personal name in the Bible. Often appearing as part of Biblical names as "-iah", or "jeho-" as in Isaiah, Jeremiah, Jehoshua, and Jehosaphat, and Hebrew words like "Hallelujah".

Has anyone ever researched Haile Selassie I? He was undoubltedly one of the greatest emporers of Ethiopia, if not many nations. He was a devout Christian, and he furthered human progress greatly. He wasn't a rasta, and wasn't aware that people viewed him as a God until later in his reign. He does belong to the line of David of the tribe of Judah. Oh yeah, just to everyone know, Jesus wasn't white, he probably looke like someone who lived in that part of the world. But that's not important. A group of rastas once tried to visit the palace when Selassie was there, and they were turned right around at the palace doors and couldn't go any further. Instead of criticizing this religion, we should praise them for spreading the message of love, and witness to them about Jesus Christ.

JAH is not an abbreviation. It IS another name of the LORD.

Psalms 68:4 Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.
KJV

True. But an abbreviation is still a word, still another name for God.

JohnForte,
Why are you taking the truth personal? This has nothing to do with our other reasonings!

Abbreviations are not words!!! K F C is not a word. A B C is not a word.
N B C is not a word. They are abbreviations for such words.

JAH Is a name for our FATHER, LORD, JEHOVAH. Names.

It is a misconception that JAH is short for Jehovah. Get it?
