I am sorry if this post is in the wrong place, but it seems appropriate. Do you all think that these Christian/Rasta discussions glorify God? What do you think he is thinking about as he looks down over us? How much more productive could we be as Christians and Rasta's if we just forgot about some of this insignificant stuff and starting talking about ways which we could better ourselves in the eyes of God? Please don't jump all over the 'insignificant' term. Please (insert whatever word you like there). I think this forum needs a complete overhaul...nobody is going to change their opinions on certain topics...let's accpet that and move on! I could only imagine the outpouring of blessings if we all helped each other stand tall and and live strong for Jesus. I can only imagine how tired some of you must be whom have been involved in these neverending, cyclical discussions. We are causing division amongst God's people. We ALL are! (I will be the first in line to accept blame). Can we at least try something new? Maybe a new approach at things? Please don't respond with any quotes from the FAQ...this is beyond that. We are the ones whom shape these discussions. The FAQ is only involved if we drag quotes in here. Forget the FAQ! I will pray that we all find God's purpose for these discussions we have here...I personally have been involved in some very meaningful ones. Blessings. Rootsdr.

Big Up!

That's what Selassie seaid and what I am trying to tell people all the time. We are spiritual kinsmen. ( In Germany it is the same problem. They are word fighting all the time as if it would be most important to be the one who's right )

Reggae D.O. I feel what you are saying. Personally I have come to understand God more by reading/participating in discussion with the brothers and sisters here, to which I turn around and Give God back the glory for bringing me knowledge wisdom and overstanding! Is God glorified? Yeah sure. Do we get heated sometimes and say things we should not? yeah sure. We are still human. I fundamentally believe that we are here to bear witness to one another to God.. as God's creations.
Everything we do wether we realize it or not is a testimony to God because we are his creation. The sooner we realize it, the better of course. This forum has helped many I believe.

There are plenty of other website forums out there which may engage in similar discussion about Christianity and Rasta but few that I have seen as being productive. I have been having this discussion at work as well about denominations claiming to be "right" and my good friend gave me this analogy so I will pass it on to everyone reading:

We need to act more like organisms that make up the body of Christ rather than acting and behaving like organizations making up the body of Christ. In other words, when we put down our institutional pride and recognize that we all need each other and can learn to grown in Christ through each other, then we make progress!

Thank you Coolpoete. I guess I just am not seeing much growth in some of these discussions. It seems more about someone being Right and the other Wrong. I understand the rest of your post. Blessings. Rootsdr.

another ting for thought, InI might not see the change in people here. man and man is prideful. minds and hearts could be changing right before the eyes but because of pride ones might not admit that. i have had some pretty heated reasoning before in person where the reasoning itself didnt show any fruit i only saw the fruit in the life and the lifestyle of the person weeks later. reasoning is how people learn and either strengthen their beliefs or change them. some issues get well dragged out before one party or another sees the light or a point of a situation. i am not speaking on any topic specifically but reasoning in general

I was thinking something simular to this and it is very true. I will be the first one to admit that I have and continue to grow through reasonings here and with local believers where I live.

It's like a biblical sword fight. Not to win. But to sharpen one another for the real spiritual battle against the enemy and those wicked schemes! (which we face each day) I don't think any of us here are enemies

Sounds good...I guess I have been misinterpreting some of the "reasonings" here at times. I am glad I am wrong. Blessings. Rootsdr.

When they promote a deeper understanding of truth, a deeper understanding of each other, and greater love, empathy, and compassion for each other, I think they do glorify Jah.

I think God probably laughs at us. Not in a cruel mockery, but seeing how foolish we all are and loving us anyway.

I don't see why not. Try some stuff and see what works!
