Some even say that he was a dictator. I don't know what reasons they have for this, and whether these reasons are valid. Anyone?

again mm mm
From my studies of H.I.M. & his experienceS, I have come to see under the sun a constant smearing campaign against african leaders by the baby wrong controlled media, during the colonial era even till this present day terming them as dictators m mm. The smearing of leaders who fail to bend down low to the devilish , hypocrazy colonists "demands" to keep africans as slaves in their hypocrazy policies.

As I keep saying, most of the people blowing a trumpet against H.I.M. under various small posts under H.I.M.'s regime, in their greed, are guilty of maliciously betraying H.I.M. to the crazy call-themselves x-ristian colonists.

GIDAMAWI BLESS!!!!!!

There are some who would call any monarch a "dictator," or spit the term "autocrat" as an epithet, whether justly or not. Consider the source before drawing any conclusions on that score.

I think you'll probably just have to study Selassie, and preferably from many different angles, before you develop a good perspective on him for yourself. But I don't think most human lives are simple enough to just say "good man" or "bad man."

to respond to deh question of Selassie I's treatment of deh poor -

1. know dat deh poor will always be in every society and dat poverty is a relative state. poverty was in I-thiopia before I-Majesty was even in flesh and poverty still exists after I-Majesty departed deh flesh. when ones check how deh country is set up with its intricate hiearchies and feudal system of governing a country with over 50 ethnicities & langauges, ones can see deh compexity of deh task. deh poverty issue rests soley upon the shoulders of deh feudal lords and deh church who tax deh peasants to work upon the land. deh church itself teks 50 % of deh peasants crops just for being deh church, while deh overlords may tek up to another 25% for their positions. dis is a perpetual cycle of what Ini in deh west identify as sharecropping, or a vortex of debt. when deh church cannot even be approached to lower their % of taxation and the landlords very rarely relinquish their financial stronghold, unless convinced by threat of force you have a lose-lose situation for peasants. some of the landlords reside in remote parts of the country which in Selassie I's time would take weeks to get to, before He broke down the country with scattered airstrips. most feudal lords had never even been to Addis Ababa, let alone met wideh Emperor about deh issue of poverty because there were always filters as in any pyramid structure. so many palms to grease dat by deh time anything meks it to deh H.I.M. deh root gets buried beneath deh corruption.

2. even Emmanuel said dat deh poor shall be wid Ini always, even he did not do away with poverty completely. in an empire dat is 45-49% Muslim, 45%-49% Christian and another 5%-7% classified as other, unification on any front is almost impossible espicially in deh area of finance.

3. if I-Majesty relinquished His power in 1974 and He was deh supposed cause of deh famine, why was I in elementary school singing we are deh world in 1984 wid deh dergue at deh reigns?

in deh overall scheme of things, no swiss bank accounts ever varified e. ullendorf used his own funds to research and varify that, no dead body ever produced, deh throne of David still empty and deh Nyahbhingi livity still being deh closest to how Immanuel trodded, deh fact is Haile Selassie I is still deh only man in modern I-story to standup widem titles and no one cannot say dat He is not deh King of Kings, Lord of Lords, The Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, The Elect of Jah, The Defender of the Faith & the Light of deh World.

I can!

YESUS is the light of the world.

Jahn 8:12 When Yesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

O.K. ras tafari makonnen may have been the elect of JAH. Elected by Yesus, who IS JAH!

I can too! Just because men decided to give him those titles doesn't mean that's who he truly is. The scriptures only give those names to Jesus!

are deh I dem saying dat His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I is a liar because He H.I.M.self took deh titles? or are deh I dem saying dat deh church who annoited H.I.M. wid deh titles is a liar? or are deh I dem saying dat deh 72 nations who bowed at coronation hypocrites for not standing up and questioning the titles? these are serious questions that even the present Abuna now even struggles wid - just food for thought
