That's easy......
Here's a few.........

Quote:
Rastafari is a belief that Jesus Christ has already returned to the earth bearing a new name, as Emperor Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Jah Rastafari. Rastafarians believe that he is God, the Savior and Judge of the world.

Question:
"What is the difference between Rastafari and Christafari"?
We do not worship Haile Selassie, but pray to whom he prayed, Jesus Christ. We do not believe that the second coming of Christ has taken place yet, but are preparing for it daily.

A "Rastafarian" is a follower of "Rastafari" and an adherent to the beliefs of "Rastafarianism" (i.e., a believer in the deity or veneration of Haile Selassie, repatriation, Ethiopia as Zion and the sacramental use of marijuana).

If you look like a Rasta, walk like a Rasta, talk like a Rasta, and call yourself a Rasta, then guess what? You ARE a Rasta.

Whatr in accuracy are you seeing? Granted they are generalized statements. But they must be. Each Rasta is differant so they must sift out as much commonality as possible... So where is the error in these statements? The definition of the word Cult does fit places and parts with in the Rasta movement. Please show me how Bobo Shanty are not tight with this description...

So I was told. I do not agree.
I have more things. Much more.

I disagree with more but let's leave it at this unless you are willing to accept critique that will question much essential things of loz/christafari.

Sorry to interrupt the debate, but I have some news.

Apparently, my mother is going to let me grow my dreadlocks. The thing is, I want to have research ready , just in case my Pastor tries to confront me again

Note- I was speaking to my youth Pastor, about this, and his son was a dread. He was telling me, the same thing Messian was saying, if Jah, told me too do it, then do it. Reguardless of if I am Rasta or not. He said if its a personal thing, that I feel I have to do for whatever reasons, I should do it. But in my case, have some kind of research just in case, my pastor tries anything.

So, I've seen some good material bouncin' around in here, but from a Christian's point of view, what should I tell my Pastor if she confronts me?!

That you are thankful for her advice. And that you will be in prayer about it and you are seeking God's will because it is Him that you are out to please.

Jetze,
I am interested in hearing what you have to say on essentials of Christafari/Lion Of Zion. Reading Mark Mohr's explanations carefully, I feel that he doesn't paint everything with the same brush, but helps to break down the stereotypes. For example, he clearly says that not all Rastas worship HIM Hailee Selassie as JAH. Some do site Yeshua as Lord and Saviour and the One worthy of worship. As I stated in earlier discussions, I believe if someone comes and says "I am Rasta", they need to define that statement as it can mean many different things- which you and others have helped me to see over time. I think Bill's comments are good as there are many different scenarios one may encounter in reasoning with Rastas but you need to have some reference point to understand where they are "basically" coming from and then you can discuss things more intelligently.

So, if you don't mind I'd like to know what your comments or criticisms of Christafari / Lion Of Zion are. What caught my eye was your use of the words "much essential things"- because that leads me to believe your differences of opinion go further than simply a style or methods of accomplishing things. Any organization or ministry which is based on and rooted in truth can stand criticism and none of us is above being asked or inspected to see what's really happening.
higher heights in Christ Jesus...Everytime,
Mike

Besides, there are many Rastafarians who do not believe Selassie to be JAH. The head of the biggest Rastafarian Organization is saying this, for example.

Messian- don't you see that you are being contrary? First you write that there are many Rasta's that believe differently than other Rasta's and then you disagree that there should be a generalization for that exact reason.

You write of westernization brain wash mentality and how Rasta see this as their beliefs being generalized; yet you are generalizing just the same!

Your reasonings are becoming more opinion instead of fact on this subject.

You did not respond to my post completely----- Is not my short hair spiritual since it is JAH who told me to cut it??? Or are you saying ONLY dreads are spiritual??? Anything which JAH tells you/I is spiritual, right???
