Im confussed when i see various christian gospel reggae artists wearing shirts that have the lion (which i can see how is Jesus) with the colors red, yellow and green.

Don't these colors say basically represent africa? If so how can all these white people wear them?

I don't mean to sound racist, im just confussed how it relates christianity... i can understand it from a rasta prospective.

Do you guys believe all men originated from black men, etc? I can't understand why people who are no african decent wear the colors of the county.

I can't word what im trying to say but basically what do the colors mean to a person like myself, being a non black, non rasta, born and raised Candian citizen from a Europian caucasian decent?

p.s if i came across rude, racist or anythign... thats not how i meant it to be... i just want to be enlightend on what the colors mean and what significane they have to a person liek myself.

Green, gold, and red are the colors of Ethiopia. Green, black, and red are the colors of the back-to-Africa movement (c.f. Marcus Garvey). Green, gold, and black are the colors of Jamaica.

They have different interpretations in different groups. E.g. some interpret green, black, and red as the green of Africa's lush vegetation (obviously applies only to regions), black as the color of African people, and red as the color of martyrs' blood. Christafari has their own interpretation in the FAQ: http://www.lionofzion.com/faq/78da3334010000980066/Red,+Yellow+&+Green.html

You will find that Christian reggae fans often revere Emperor Haile Selassie as an exemplary Christian monarch of our era, and sometimes even an ikon of Jah, though they do not worship him as Jah.

As for white people wearing African colors, it is worthwhile to note that all human beings originally migrated from Africa, including people of the whitest shades of pale. The difference in pigmentation among humans is a very recent development in the history of our species.

And, scientifically speaking, there is no such thing as "races." It's an ideological reality (almost always used to perpetuate injustices), not a biological one.

His answer is not a great answer it is evolutionary theory!

First of all....The theory that all people migrated from Africa is evolutionary theory.....Not Biblical!

Second....God made all races at the same time.....The development of pigmentation is not recent.....God created different peoples with different pigments......The theory that all pigments came from one "Mother" pigment is evolutionary theory.....Not Biblical!

His answer is not a great answer it is evolution!

jonagus - do you believe in the genesis account of creation? Ive heard the theory of us all being from afirca but it seems rather hard to believe we all came from there and we now have so many different pigments (in just a couple thousand years).

If one was to say the genesis account was false then i could see how that theory could be true.. but for one to believe in the biblical account it seems rather unlikely.

What are your opinions... id like to hear others thoughts on this topic as well. I liek this board where followers of Christ can come together and talk intelligently.

He says he believes in The Bible....But then he comes up with this evolution stuff??

His theory is FAR from Biblical....And it seems Blaminack supports it as well.

Gen 2:10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.
Gen 2:11 The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;
Gen 2:12 And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.
Gen 2:13 And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.
Gen 2:14 And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.
Gen 2:15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

Ray the problem has NOTHING to do with Evolution. It has to do with Bible interpretation. This verse makes it plain that ALL HUMANS came from East Africa/Arabia so I do in fact see what the problem is. It is your chronic misinterpretation of Scripture. I believe that God started with ONE MAN. You do not. It HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH EVOLUTION.
