Peace and Love to all in the Name of the Almighty Father, Jah, His Son, Yeshua the Messiah, & in the Holy Spirit. It came to my attention that the moderators decided to name this forum Rasta and ganja. Now I am curious to know why they did this? Are they assuming that Rastafari only deals with Ganja? Do they really know that Rastafari deals with the teachings of the Bible, of the Messiah, Yeshua, His Imperial Majesty, Marcus Garvey, & the acceptance of Ethiopia and Israel being one?

If this is what they truly believe, then I am here to imply that Rastafari is not just about reggae, ganja, and dreadlocks, but much more than that.
Again this is just a question that I am asking here, so I would appreciate someone clarifying their reason for naming this forum Rasta and Ganja reasoning. This is not my first time posting here, and I have explained myself to some members that I am a Rastafarian who speaks on Yeshua the Messiah or Jesus like most of you know him as. This is the same Son of Jah whom Emperor Haile Selassie directed all Rastafarians too, through his own inspirational words.

However, even though I have accept the Messiah and not the Emperor as thee Anointed of Jah, it is not my right to try and convert my fellow Rastafarians but only up to Jah to pour His Holy Spirit and opened ones eyes to the truth. That is exactly what I am doing on my site Twelve Tribes Live Up, bringing all Rastafarians together, not tearing them apart, & sharing with them the teachings of the Holy Bible and the Gospel of the Kingdom, which even Yeshua shared with those in ancient Israel. Since I have returned to this forum, I have seen many questions asked about the Emperor Haile Selassie, concerning the characteristics of him.

Well as a Rastafarian, I have no doubt saying that the Emperor was not only a true Christian king, but one of the Kings of Israel like David and Solomon was, how could anyone deny this truth? I have heard and obtain interviews and speeches of His Imperial Majesty, & when asked if he is King of Kings of Ethiopia, Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Elect of Jah, & Light of this World, the Emperor agrees. But really I am not surprised to actually see ones denying these titles that was given to not only His Majesty but all the Ethiopian kings.

Alot of Europeans fail to accept the fact that an African king actually sat on the oldest sovereign throne on earth, the Throne of David, because of their white supremist mindset. :x Oswald Hoffman called His Majesty, Lion of Judah & King of Kings of Ethiopia, & the Emperor had no problem with that. Even Bill McNeil questioned him," It is said that you are descended from King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, your Majesty. That you are the 134th of the Christian Kings?" Selassie simply said," Yes that is correct." If the Emperor knew this was a mistake in claiming ancestry to Solomon and Sheba & being Lion of Judah, he would have told Bill McNeil, that is what people say but its not true.

Even with Oriana Fallaci, she asked him the same question of his Davidic Solomonic lineage and he also said it is true. Therefore, despite what anyone want to believe, the Emperor is one of David's seeds,(Yeshua is really the seed of David though) like all the Ethiopian kings. What are ones afraid to admit? That the Royal House of David is no longer in Jerusalem but in Ethiopia? It is not a story or any myth like ones believe but is truth & the Kebre show I n I Rastafari that! It is even written in the very Ethiopian Constitution that the Kings of Ethiopia physically originated from Israel.

Ones need to know that it is not blasphemous for the Ethiopian kings to receive titles, King of Kings, Conquering Lion of Judah, Elect of God, & Light of the World, because it is an ancient Israelite tradition, David, Solomon and all the Kings of Israel also were known as this, not just the Ethiopian kings alone. All the kings and emperors use these titles to represent the Messiah, the Christ, who will return to sit and rule on the Throne of Israel, not for themselves.

It is Him, King Yeshua, who Revelations 17 & 19 teaches about being the King of all kings and Lord of all lords! :D I really don't care what anyone can say about His Imperial Majesty, because none of these critics can't even walk in the footsteps of the Emperor, a true Christian king, who boldly defended the Christ to the world! So let Meles Zenawi and all those Ethiopian carpers fool people about the Emperor all they want, his legacy will never end! Jah bless His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie I! Praises be to the Almighty Father through His Son, Yeshua the Messiah! :D

p.s. Like His Majesty said," "Some people have written the story of my life representing as truth, what in fact derives from ignorance, error or envy; but they cannot shake the truth from its place, even if they attempt to make others believe it."

The Imperial diginity shall remain perpetually to the line of Haile Sellassie I, descendant of King Sahle Sellassie, whose line descends without interruption from the dynasty of Menelik I, son of the Queen of Ethiopia, the Queen of Sheba and King Solomon of Jerusalem.

The sucession to the Throne and Crown of the Empire by the descendants of the Emperor and the exercise of the powers of Regency shall be determined as hereinafter provided.

By virtue of His Imperial Blood, as well as by the anointing which He has recieved, the person of the Emperor is sacred, His dignity is inviolable and His power indisputable. He is, consequently, entitled to all the honours due to Him in accordance with tradition and the present Constitution. Any one so bold as to seek to injure the Emperor will be punished.

If you want to read the Ethiopian Constution for yourself, go to this site,
http://groups.msn.com/DaRootsandKultcha/constitution.msnw
If ones still disbelieve then go to Ethiopia yourself and read the Ethiopian Constitution then. Now let us ask ourselves if Haile Selassie wasn't really from the lineage of Solomon and David, like ones believe, then he would have certainly disapproved what was said in the Ethiopian Constitution about Him coming from Solomon and Sheba. Only those Ethiopian critics who are loyal to Mengistu and the Dergue would only think it is a lie, because they don't want ones to know exactly who the Emperor really was, they just want to keep undermining him.

They are nothing but hypocrites who want people to believe what they say instead of ones learning for themselves who His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie was & still is spiritually. Of course he made mistakes in his lifetime as a human being, but for anyone to blame the famine on the Emperor when he very much gave all he had for Ethiopia is truly disrespectful, blame the Ethiopian government instead! Some of you need to do your research on the Emperor before being fooled by ones. Becareful of who you disrespect because Yeshuah wouldn't like it at all.

The Ethiopian Constution not only shows Selassie's Israelite lineage but all the Ethiopian kings, excluding Emperor Yasu, son of Ras Mikael of Wollo, who rather embraced Islam & not Orthodox Christianity. I noticed that ones are using the Ethiopian flag, but just know who Ethiopia really is, an ancient Israelite African nation, that already knew of the true Christianity, not this westernized version of it, which Europeans came with to Africa, before using these colors. For these are spiritual colors, not just only Rastafarian but originally Ethiopian, not for commercialization or fashion.

The above imperial declaration given to the Emperor reveals the absolute spiritual connection Rastafarians have with Ethiopia, & also shows the ancient Biblical linkage of Israel and Ethiopia. This is the reason why I n I Rastafarians see ourselves as the Lost Tribes of Israel, the Twelve Tribes of Israel, from that time in this day now. Rastafari doesn't deal with Judaism, Christianity, Islam or any faith, this is not a religion but a spirituality. Like the Emperor said religion seperates the people, but spirituality brings them together.

Rastafari didn't just begin in Jamaica in the late 20's, early 30's like ones assume, this is a spiritual movement that existed from the ancient biblical times of the Nation of Israel, just not officially known as Rastafari yet, until after His Imperial Majesty was crowned Emperor of Ethiopia, whose precoronation title was Ras Tafari. The same Israelites later migrated to not only the Mediterranean and Asia, but Africa, and were captured by those Europeans to be slaves in the Western Hemisphere.

Another thing that ones need to know is that the Hebrew Israelites were certainly not white, but dark skinned peoples, Shemetic. Yet we cannot ignore the fact that Hamites also married Shemites, & therefore they became much darker over the ages. The Messianic Faith, or the true Christian faith, as it was originally known as, didn't even embrace none of the modern teachings of Christianity. This is why I emphasize that Rastafari doesn't deal with western Christianity, but the Messianic Faith. Neither does Rastafari deal with Judaism, because that is a plain religion.

I feel that it is time that ones realise what Rastafari is really about. We are surely not any cult like many falsely believe, but an African Liberation Movement, that is even being internationally embraced by all kinds of peoples. Therefore for those who might feel that Rastafari is lost and needs to be found by Jesus, well Rastafari already knows the truth. For the Emperor was the one who pointed us to the teachings of the Holy Bible and to the Messiah Himself, Yeshua. Let Jah be the judge to decide who is right or wrong. While not all Christians are ignorant to speak with Rastafarians, some surely are.

But I hope that they can remove this igorance from their minds sooner or later. Because even Yeshua reasoned with all kinds of people, & never excluded anyone from him to hear about the Gospel of the Kingdom. For the Messiah was sent by Jah to save and redeem all peoples unto the Father again, & preach the Good News to them. Let's not forget the Messiah's Mission on Earth. One more thing I would like to add in this discussion, Yeshua had to been a dreadlocks, because he was persecuted same way like the Rastafarians are now, for not only wearing their locks but being a part of the Rastafari Movement! Thanks to His Imperial Majesty for teaching us Rastafarians, the true Christianity!

For the answer to the question at the very first of your post... the Moderators didn't make this section or the name of it. That was done by the Administrator, who is not working with LOZ any longer.

Welcome to the site by the way. I hope that you can contribute much valuable perspective to the reasonings here.

As far as the name of the section goes, I think it had to do with the world's perspective and stereotypes of what the Reggae Scene is about.

I'm having trouble with the fact that every time someone questions something about Rastafari, this is called European White misunderstanding. I see this time and time again. Like if you question rastafari you always are white and European. But I'm not questioning things because of the fact that I'm white or European, I am because my brains work and question things in reasoning. I'm trying to be objective. But over and over again I see many people explain this as being a white and European thing, and therefore wrong. But let me tell you that I know a lot of black people, not from Europe, that ask the same things and question rastafari as well. Like anything else in the world, rastafari should be questioned, and when done so, it shouldn't be explained as a white European thing all the time.

blessed love,
Ini was reasoning wid a bredren who linked wid one who had just entered deh seminary. deh way dat deh theology is taught is according to deh time periods of reformation, deh dark ages, enlightenment age and one other Ini forgot. deh point is dat none of dese deal wid Afreecan spirituality, so why do Ini need dem as an Afreecan? when all dese periods were happening in Europe deh rest of creation still went on, not standing still waiting for Europe to find itself.
the integral problem wid dis, is dat Europe is deh last continent to receive Christianity but today assumes deh role as deh primary teacher. dis means dat deh globe is taking deh slant of European theology and accepting it as deh concrete truth. Irie, dis is why ones speak of deh disbelief of the only righteous throne being occupied by an Afreecan, because it has be europe, europe europe for so many years now dat deh brainwashing is complete. you now have displaced Afreecans emulating their European downpressors for a place in deh heavenly sky, when proverbs tells I "envy not deh oppressor & choose none of his ways"-3:31.
there are ones on dis forum who accept ad acknowledge deh pope's authority like it is divine, fiyah bun dat! but ones readily and unquestionly tek deh pope's authority of sitting pon a stool as holy because he's a european, so it mus be right! deh number upon deh pope's helmet is 666 and his actions reflect deh same.
it is dis environment dat has shaped deh world view and deh reason why it is difficult for ones generally to accept a divine Afreecan. dis si a old saying here but it still holds its validity to dis very day -
white is right -yellow is mellow - brown stick around & black get back!
Jahave mercy!

I am very sorry to hear that your brother went to a horribly deficient seminary. In the seminary I attended, we studied many African theologians and their teachings. Any seminary worth its salt must do this, because the most influential theologians of all Christian history were from Africa.

Among the most influential Christian theologians of all time were Origen ("father of Greek theology"), Tertullian ("father of Latin theology"), Athanasius of Alexandria, and Augustine of Hippo. It would be difficult to argue that anyone else has had an influence in Christian theology approaching these four, and all four of them are Africans.

Innumerable martyrs, saints, and theologians are the glory of Africa, home to almost all the Desert Fathers and Mothers (e.g. Anthony the Great, Mary of Egypt) and at least three bishops of Rome (i.e. Catholic popes). Among the great African Christians of ancient times are Clement of Alexandria, Alexander of Alexandria, Catherine Great-martyr of Alexandria, Perpetua and Felicity, Cyprian of Carthage, Lactantius, Arnobius, Alexander of Lycopolis, Peter Martyr of Alexandria, Pierius of Alexandria, Cyril of Alexandria, Theonas of Alexandria, Dionysius the Great, and Fulgetius of Ruspe. The Councils of Hippo Regius and Carthage were crucial in the precise definition of the Christian canon of Scripture. The debt of modern Christians to the Church in Africa is incalculable.

I disagree. Africa is producing an amazing array of world missionaries these days. Europe is producing very little.

Actually, I think there are very few Catholics on this forum. Roots Doc used to be one, but I don't think he is anymore. Most people here are Protestants, while others of us lean to the East.

But I do know Catholics do not follow the pope "because he's a european." They believe their first pope ever was a Middle Eastern Jew (Shimon Kefa, Peter), and there have been at least three African popes whom they consider just as authoritative as John Paul II.

I am curious about this, though. By his "helmet" do you mean the little white kippa he wears? (I think Catholics call it a "zuchetto," but it's a kippa nonetheless.) It doesn't have any numbers or letters on it.

I'm also curious about which of his actions you condemn so strongly. John Paul II has been the foremost proponent of third world debt relief, for example; do you oppose it? He opposed the U.S. offensive war in Iraq; were you strongly in favor of the war? He teaches his followers that "Racism is a sin that constitutes a serious offense against God" and they must "condemn any racism, no matter in what heart or place it is found"; do you prefer racism instead? What have you got against him?
