I wonder, though, whether many Christians here would really be happy about Rastas becoming EOC members. The EOC, like the Eastern Orthodox and Catholic Churches, holds many ancient Christian doctrines and practices dear which Protestants find repulsive, like the veneration of Miriam and the saints, the eucharist as the true flesh and blood of Y'shua, the seven holy mysteries (sacraments) as means of grace, the longer Old Testament canon, the hierarchy of bishops, the veneration of holy icons, etc.

Good point, I think you may be right.

As for me, I would be pleased if more Rastas discovered roots Christianity and became Ethiopian Orthodox. I have no objection to these ancient Christian doctrines and practices of the EOC, especially now that the non-Chalcedonian Oriental Orthodox Churches have agreed to common christological declarations with the Churches who accepted the christology of the Council of Chalcedon.

i could be wrong but s didnt them messiah drink of the fruit of the vine at the last supper. i know the messiah was a dreadlocks and a nazerene (means from nazereth) but i dont know if he was specifically under the vow. being Jah in flesh he would be the fulfillment of the nazerite not really bound to the order of the vow.

The messiah was the fullment of the nazerite and they were a shadow of Him. and they were the first RasTaman patterened after Him all of them having ras(dreadlocks) on thier head. i believe since He is the Head Creator=Ras Tafari then the true RasTaman nazerites of now are patterened after him as well. all having their head in knots just as their Messiah.

But what if we know by sciences as archeology etc. more or less what people looked like in that time and place (jews in Israel 2000 years ago), and we learn that those people didn't have any dreadlocks????
I mean, to me it's no big deal. I like dreads. So if Jesus had dreads: cool. But I don't think you can say with certainty that Jesus was a dreadlock.

Jdg 16:13 And Delilah said unto Samson, Hitherto thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: tell me wherewith thou mightest be bound. And he said unto her, If thou weavest the seven locks of my head with the web.

Now this would say braids if it meant braided hair, and the fact that there were only seven locks is of interest. There are pictures available on the Net that show men with very Few butr really large locks.

mm mmm you x-ristians! you keep claiming jesus coming was a prophecy since even adams time! you claim the scripture speaks all of the coming of jesus! ancient prophets said he shall come up & be called a nazarene for the NAZARITE CULTURED flock he dwelt with(MATTHEW 2:23 >>And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, "He shall be called a Nazarene." ) ! so I ask myself as in your shoes instead of beating about the bush! what is a nazarene?????? what do nazarites do????? so thats how I know he was afiliated with the nazarites more than any roman culture!!

gedamawe bless!!

A Nazarene is a Person that lived in Nazareth.

A Nazarite is a person who took a Nazarite vow.

This is a common misinterpretation.

You are how ever totally correct in the Christ had NOTHING to do with Roman culture. That perversion came in much later.
